What happens during the test

- A camera goes through the sewer lateral, the pipe from your house to the street, to look for cracks, root intrusion and open joints.
If the test fails
The Borough will not issue a certificate until illegal connections are removed or lateral defects are repaired and a licensed plumber certifies the work. If the work can't be finished before closing, the Borough may issue a 30-day temporary certificate. It requires a signed plumber contract and cash security equal to the contract amount.
